MEDIA USED FOR JUSTICE, EQUITY & RESPECT (M.U.J.E.R.)
Media Used for Justice Equity and Respect (M.U.J.E.R.) is a program that brings a unique opportunity for youth ages 17 up to young adults of 32 years to learn about independent media production, how to share personal stories, develop strategic messaging and work on script writing, video editing, film and more.
If you consider yourself a person of color, an ally of Women and non-binary, non-gender specific LGTBQ+A, who are emergent or pre-emergent creators, artists, media enthusiasts, makers/inventors, entrepreneurs and creatives then you are encouraged to apply.
Selected participants also receive a modest stipend for their commitment, consistent attendance and participation throughout the 8-12 week program. Participants are chosen through an application process, applications are reviewed by a committee of fellow artists, professionals, educators, counselors and community leaders.
2023 Registration is OPEN.
Within the recent launch of the LoisaidaTV Media Production Studio, we’ll continue to present an hands-on approach to media literacy and production for gender non-conforming young adults, women and their allies, who might be at the early stage of their professional careers.
The program led by award-winning actress, producer and choreographer María Torres of María Torres Production, as the lead Program Coordinator and Facilitator in collaboration with past MUJER program participants or alumni.
Registration is OPEN for Spring 2023.
