Center 710 East 9th Street, New York, NY, United StatesLoisaida is very pleased to present a 4-week intensive workshop in media literacy and production for young women and their allies at the early stage of their careers, within the launch of our long-awaited El Semillero/The Seedbed. The program is slated to be lead by local filmmaker Eden Martinez. We are offering the program to local individuals who are emergent or pre-emergent artists, media workers, and/or technologists, ages 16 - 24. Participants will learn how to break down media messages, stories from the LES, strategic messaging and script writing, video production, and more.

Inspired by local artist and activist, Rolando Politi, whose iconic repurposed and recycled sculptures pepper community gardens throughout Loisaida, the program uses place-based pedagogy and recycled materials to equip youth and residents in using creative strategies to address the city’s urgent issues.
