Description:
We will briefly introduce Carmen Pabón and her magnificent work in the community. After that the participant will be encourage to create their own community character and describe what that character does for the community.
Outcome:
Participants will be able to reflect about Carmen Pabón heroic support to the community and create their own hero and contribution. Develop their drawing skills and creativity. They will be part of the pirate fashion show.
Description:
We will read some of this famous “nuyorican” poetry using it as a base to direct poetry Workshops with a political perspective.
Outcome:
Reflect about “Nuyorican” poetry and its importance in the LES community. Being able to create poetry with political content. They will be part of the pirate fashion show.
A documentary about the political, economic and social situation of Puerto Rico. It exposes part of the contemporary history of the island and explores several solutions that can force a change in the moral and intellectual psyche of Puerto Ricans.
