Tribute to Joaquín Torres García’s Legacy
The Loisaida Inc. Center 710 East 9th Street, New York, NY, United StatesThis commemorative event, has been held for fifty consecutive years, thanks to the Uruguayan Embassy, Consulate and Uruguayan Diaspora of NYC. Torres-Garcia's grandson, Marcos Torres, will be present to give a brief scope of the hemispheric influence of his grandfather's influential Escuela Constructivista in Uruguay and the rest of the world from its beginning to the present day.

GARBAGIA UNIVERSE
The Loisaida Inc. Center 710 East 9th Street, New York, NY, United StatesOverview: Garbagia Project is Loisaida's Summer Program, a series of free open community workshops with a focus on creating art with recycled materials. This year's edition Garbagia Universe expands its horizons, it will consist of a 3 week intensive workshop completely FREE for all ages.
Each week participants will be creating art with recycled materials using a different approach; 1st week will be sewing and costume design workshop. 2nd week will be sculpture, drawing and painting workshop. 3rd week will be a collective performance and movement workshop.
