Espacio MUY de Arte – La Sala de Pepe y Foto Espacio
April 1 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Dear friends and art lovers,
Gallery MUY, based in San Cristobal de Las Casas, Mexico, is a cultural center for contemporary art by creators of Mayan and Zoque descent. It employs all media, from painting, sculpture, and photography to performance and relational art in the indigenous communities of Chiapas.
La Sala de Pepe y Foto Espacio has exhibited and is working on projects with MUY represented photographer Sasaknichim (Margarita) Martinez Perez. MUY is also currently exhibiting five painters at the Kates-Ferri Project on Grand Street through March 29*
MUY’s goal is to:
- Bring a larger group exhibition to the U.S. in the near future. The exhibition “Reimagining Our Territories” can be viewed here: https://www.galeriamuy.org/en/
reinventing-territories- migration-according-to-maya- and-zoque-communities/ - And to form cross-border partnerships with artists and arts organizations in NYC by developing collaborative works, site-specific projects, and international exchange and residency programs
How can this happen?
With your ideas, connections, and help!
Please join us this Tuesday at Loisaida Inc. for a conversation with MUY Directors: curator Maya Juracan; artist PH Joel, and John Burstein, Gallery Co-Founder.
