May 26: The 37th Annual Loisaida Festival, ‘A Cultural Mosaic,’ beautifully encapsulates the diverse heritage and vibrant spirit of New York City’s Lower East Side.

Whitney Art Showcase Celebration

May 9: Seniors and staff from the Loisaida community participated in the senior art showcase and celebration at the Whitney Museum (4 ~ 6 PM).

Nuyorican Poets Cafe

May 1: W.O.W. (WOMXN ORATORS WEDNESDAY) Open Mic – a Nuyorican Poets Café offsite event at the Loisaida Center (6 ~ 8:30 PM)

May 8, 29: Open Mic hosted by Solpreme – a Nuyorican Poets Café offsite event at Loisaida Center (6 ~ 8:30 PM)

Wellness Thursday for Older Adults

May 16: Every 3rd Thursday of the month at the Loisaida Center (10 AM ~ 1 PM), the workshop provides Acupressure for stress relief and cravings, Herbalism classes, Nutrition classes, Mind/body classes, and Health Consultations.

Taste of Lower East Side

May 15: Loisaida, Inc. Center and partner Grand Street Settlement hosts the 22nd annual Taste of the Lower East Side event, honoring the visionary Raul Russi, former CEO and current President of our parent organization, the Acacia Network. At Skylight at Essex Crossing (6 PM).

Senior Day

May 3: Art Workshops, Zumba/Aerobics, Educational Panels, Live Music, Snacks, Coffee and more! Senior Day events take place every first Friday of the Month (10 AM ~ 1:30 PM).
